DO YOU WISH THAT THE DRINKING
Franklin Circle Of Hope
The Franklin Circle of Hope Al-Anon Family Group (AFG) is a
fellowship of men and women, who have lived with or are currently living
with alcoholics. I prefer the phrase “problem drinkers”. A problem drinker is
anyone whose drinking causes themselves or others problems in the course
of their lives.
Living with an alcoholic is too much for most of us. Our thinking
becomes dysfunctional by constantly trying to force solutions. I have learned
that you cannot change anyone but yourself. Alcoholism is a family disease
that affects everyone in the family. A positive change of just one person in
the family, changes for the good the dynamics of the whole family.
Our meetings are a safe, comfortable place to share our feelings with
others. Anonymity is taken seriously. No one is judged at our meetings.
Advice giving is not permitted. People come and share their thoughts and
feelings. Compassionate people who have been where you are, some still
struggling with the same issues, share their experience, strength, and hope.
We believe that no one has to suffer alone in silence or shame.
Healing happens when our dark secrets are brought into light at our
meetings, sharing with understanding people.
Al-Anon is a gentle, spiritual program. We do not belong to any sect,
denomination, or religion. Many meetings do take place in a church library
or basement. Al-Anon is an entirely separate entity.
Why don’t you come and see what we are all about. It is suggested to
attend at least 6 meetings to decide if this is right for you. We meet Monday
nights at 7:30 p.m. in the library at the Franklin Centre Church of the
Nazarene, 825 Grimshaw Rd., Franklin Centre QC.
To find out more about our meetings please call Cheryl or David at
450-264-3308; or Sandy at 450-827-2847 ~ cell 450-370-7139. We would
even be delighted to meet for coffee before the meeting to have a chat.
